Law Enforcement Requests

If you’re a law enforcement official and need to get in contact with our team, please submit a request via Law Enforcement Data Request form

Note: This is for authorized law enforcement and government officials. We will not respond to requests from non-law enforcement officials.

How does Timeleft respond to data requests from Law Enforcement?

We partner with law enforcement as needed to support welfare checks, aid in criminal investigations, ensure adherence to data privacy laws, and provide expertise on new innovations to enhance digital safety and security.

We work in good faith with law enforcement agencies to enforce our privacy policies and ensure a safe environment for all members, both within the app and in real life. In collaborating with law enforcement, we strictly follow all relevant data and privacy laws and regulations. We do not disclose any data or information requests to our members or the public.

Law enforcement agencies can submit data or preservation requests here.

Please note that we will not process requests sent via fax, phone, or email, or those made by unauthorized individuals. Requests sent by mail may experience longer response times.

Law enforcement agencies must direct their requests to our designated office:

  • France – 128 rue de la Boétie, 75008 Paris, France.

Requests must be addressed to the correct office to avoid potential refusal.

All law enforcement requests will be handled according to the laws governing the location of the office to which the request is made. It is the responsibility of the law enforcement agency to ensure requests are sent to the appropriate office. We do not transfer requests between offices.

All data requests from law enforcement must be accompanied by an official, signed document on letterhead. For compliance and proper authentication, please provide:

  • The name of the person about whom you seek information, and one or more of the following:
    • A registered email address
    • A registered mobile/cell phone number
    • A unique user ID number
  • The reason for your request
  • The information required
  • An email address from a law enforcement domain
  • A named contact person, including country, law enforcement agency, department, rank/title and contact phone number. Failure to include this information will mean we may be required by law to refuse the request.
  • An attachment of the applicable legal process, such as a grant of mutual legal assistance, production order, subpoena or search warrant. Please ensure that the legal authority specifies the correct office as we cannot comply with a legal authority made to the wrong office.
